Day 49: #SunriseProject

Sunrise: 5:48am
Photo taken from Cottonwood Pass in Grand County, Colorado at 6:13am.

Centering objects. Breaking rules.

When I was in college, I took art. My 101 class was fantastic, but my 102 class…

You see, I had Roscoe Wilson for a teacher.

I’m sure that Roscoe was just doing his job teaching us about the Rule of Thirds, but I was so angry at him.

Who did he think he was telling me NOT to put the subject of my art in the CENTER of my painting?

How DARE he limit what I could do!?

Art has NO rules!

Make your art the way you want to, ROSCOE, but DON’T mess with mine.

I may still not be over my anger at Roscoe.

Anyway, today’s image is all about saying, “Whatever, RULES. Go find someone else to hold back.”
